MOST IMPORTANT FESTIVALS


The lamb’s holiday: This holiday is celebrated at january 10th and january 11th. The holiday is celebrated in memory of Abraham when he decide to kill an animal rather his son, this act represeant to Afghanistan people courage and totally delivery to God. In the morning on january 10th the people prepare the feast with the best lamb that the community have. The faithful people pray all morning in benefit to the people that will eat the meat of the lamb. On afternoon the afghanistan people wear a White clothes and amount to the Arafat Mount. The comumunity that amount to the mount sleep all night in the top of the Arafat mount. The morning of january 11th the leader of community kill the lamb and prepare it for the community eat the lamb’s meat and they be blassed with it ingest.



Ramadam: Ramadam is the ninth month of muslims calendar, this feast is celebrated for the Afghanistan’s people because this feast represent them commitment with them god. The way to celebrated the ramadam is that the faithful people make fasting all of the month since down until sun sets. In this period of time the people do not visit other people and use to pray a lot.



The memory day (Jashn): This holiday is celebrated for a week (28th april – 4th may), this week of feast represent the freedom when Afghanistam became independent of British control at 1919. The memory day is celebrated with traditional music like Tarana or ghazals, extended speech of his leaders and eat a lot of tradinitional food like Afghanistan’s meatball or mantu.




Nauroz (New year): This holiday starts the first day of spring: Also in Afghanistan is the farmer day and they ceelebrated this day they celebrate decorating them cattle. Additionally they belive that Ajuzak, the agricultura woman walk on planting fields and she produce the rain that benefit the year and the job of the all Afghanistan people. 



Ashura’s day and Roze Maulud: These holidays are not particular feast in Afghanistan, but these are important because represent the birthday of Mahoma. These holidays are celebrated like lamb’s holiday because the people amount to Afarat mount and pray all day for them community.



Musical Styles and Folklore: 

The music of Afghanistan has existed for a long time, between the most important styles are the clasical and religious music, pop and afghan hip hop.
The clasical music which includes both instrumental and vocal and belly dancing ragas, as well as Tarana and Ghazals

Afghanistan's flag


The Afghanistan's flag was adopted on january of 2004 with the new Afghanistan's constitution. This flag is compose for three vertical strips that has diferents color like green, black and red. In the middle of the flag is the national emblem that has a particular meaning that was assigned for first time in 1928, represents the war, independence and the progress that this contry has had. Afghanistan is the country that more times has changed flags desings, because the Afghanistan people consider that the design of the flag express and show the real life that live whatever country. Written By: Ivan Fernando Molina Penagos. 


The current colors of the Afghan flag symbolize the various stages of independence. 


  • black: represents the past of Afghanistan in particular national conflicts. 
  • Red: represents the bloodshed at independence. 
  • Green: represents hope for the future, agricultural prosperity and Islam.

    Traditional Dresses 

afganistan-1526Men and women should dress with modesty and simplicity, usually the clothes are dark . because dark colors represent a conservative personality.





                                                                                                                                           
The most elaborate and fine dresses are adorned with golden threads and silk  in different colors. These are used on special occasions like weddings.
